About us

I’ve been a web designer and online marketer for 25 years with a keen interest in design and a love for playing the guitar. The amount of guitar designs in the world as always fascinated me. I had always wanted to have a go at building my own guitar as a hobby when I retired and to also learn CNC, so I purchased a CNC machine and a laser.

I started using recycled hardwoods and over time made signs and small furniture. My dad was a carpenter who taught me a lot of the skills I use these days. As time went on my wife encouraged me to make different products until it got to a point where I took them to a local makers market where I got great feedback. The Fanatical Designs idea grew from there. I really enjoy doing what I do.

I love using recycled materials especially old Oak, Beech and Mahogany. I particularly like making small furniture, keeping the design as simple as possible to work in harmony with the natural grain of the wood. I have also made products for a wide range of lifestyle catagories and customer design requests

I try to make things that are tactile and practical with, a bit of design and a hint of humour.
